Thanks for a great opening day yesterday. While we may not have had matching caps or socks (they will arrive this week), we played a really good first game of the season.
The coaches were particularly proud that a number of players were willing to jump in at positions that they don't usually play or had never tried before. One of the things that we want players to take away from the season is that it's important to take the chance of trying new things even thought it might be hard at first.
We will also stress to the players that you can get better an anything - baseball, soccer, multiplication, coaching... - if you believe you can and are willing to put in the work and accept that you might make "mistakes" along the way that are a part of the learning process. We got off to a good start with both of these goals yesterday.
I did misspeak when I said we didn't have anything until practice on Thursday. We actually have a game scheduled for 6PM Wednesday at Woodland 2. Please arrive at 5:30 so there is time for warmups and lineup setting. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Practice is from 6:00 to 7:00 Thursday and will be a joint practice with team 53.
On Saturday, we take to the road to play a Jenkintown team at SPS Field. The field is at Highland Ave and Kenmore Ave., Glenside, PA 19038. It's scheduled to start at 10:30, so please arrive by 10:00.
Have a good week!
