12U (Majors) Softball

12U (Majors) Softball is typically for girls 11-12 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting, throwing and fielding. In 12U Softball, players hit a ball thrown by a live pitcher. CLL's main focus at this age is teaching the girls proper hitting technique and to make solid contact with the ball. Bunting also becomes important at this age level. Aggressive base running is a hallmark of this age group, definitely helping to win games. Defensively, there are 9 kids on the field. The main objective for defense at this level is to know and execute plays with ease. While on defense, every player should be moving on every pitch.
