CHELTENHAM LITTLE LEAGUE BACKGROUND CHECK PROCEDURES

1. Still must use our SI Play (old sports signup) background check if your clearance has expired or you are a new volunteer. (2yr cert) This is a NATIONAL CRIMINAL CHECK that meets the Little League requirements.
2. New PA Law requires 3 things from volunteers:

1. STATE criminal check (free for volunteers) https://epatch.state.pa.us/ click on “New Record Check” Volunteers Only.  Enter Cheltenham Little League and phone number 215 663 9880 for the Organization.  You will have to save and upload to your account on our website, or email the file to safetyofficer@cheltenhamlittleleague.org, or print and copy for us.
2. Dept. Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance (free with league supplied voucher code) email safetyofficer@cheltenhamlittleleague.org   prior to going on the site for your code.

You must create an individual KEYSTONE ID account, log back in, and then you will be able to fill in information and use the provided code. https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home

Or, you can go as far as the submit page, and save your application until we supply your code.

You will receive an email when your report is complete. You may login and view/ print with the previously created account. We will automatically be able to see your clearance, but you may wish to save/ print your clearance for any other volunteer activities that require the clearance.

   c.  PA Resident Affidavit OR FBI:

When you register to coach, the PA resident Affidavit information is stated in our process. If you check the box YOU are confirming that you have been a Resident for 10 years or more. 

OR, FBI criminal clearance with fingerprint submission is required if you haven’t been a PA resident for at least the last 10 years. There is a fee for this that you as the volunteer must pay and it is good for three years. We will need a copy of the certificate when you receive it.

If your job or other volunteer services has already required the above clearances, we will accept copies of same. We still need the “SI PLay” registration to be current in our volunteer registration.
